Notes taken in Class

In first 2-2.5 years of school, students haven't crack conventional spelling code, after this they start picking it up. If not able to, they may need intervention. The way in which this is done is very important.
More writing and more reading doesn't necessarily help those who are struggling with spelling and need help. Help them with spelling first before you help them with their reading and writing.
1/3 of words are spelt just as they sound
no reliance on visual memory for these words
Phonic spelling - sicolijist (psychologist)
First break the word into syllables and vowel sounds. Can teach vowel sound and syllables in isolation but need to teach them as a combination.
If you only allow for the correct spelling, not the phonetic way, those children who struggle with spelling are constantly begin told they are wrong, this could crush their motivation, and it is highly likely they will want to try less and less.
No correct way of spelling phonetically, just as long as it is decipherable.
